We are closing temporarily, and possibly until Spring 2014. We refuse to take out a bank loan because that defeats the purpose of pursuing our dream without going the Corporate American way. We are headed to Maryland again to raise more money. It’s been part of our journey to raise money as we go, and even though this is painstakingly slow, it’s rewarding. We are not giving up on our dream. It’s just going to take longer to have everything in place.
We’re going to have to rewire to set up the coffee bar. Plus we need a proper parking lot. Not to mention, we need proper suppliers, so when we reopen, we’ll have our food co-op, coffee bar and parking lot; regardless of how long it takes to complete it.
For those who have coupons, they will be refunded.
We hope you’ll continue to keep up with our journey as we will be updating frequently and we hope you will be our customers again when we re-open.

We have to do some hauling to get the garden area set up as well as move the mulch to the parking area. 6 days ago I'm really struggling with having sodas available. I've been researching what's in them and I've learned when trucks carry the ingredients, they are required to have hazardous material signs on the trucks. One of the ingredients is rat poisoning. Because of this, we are only going to serve ice water and tea until we can start making juices and smoothies. Our goal is to have all single ingredients for our inventory and make menu items from those ingredients. 1 week ago Today is pasty day! $4.75 and it comes with a side of either coleslaw, apple broccoli or side salad. It's a meal in a pocket, so to speak. A northern treat. We sold out of them last week in less than an hour so we made a bunch more this week. 1 week ago Mommy Jean has come up with a new bread, and it is my absolute favorite so far. We're trying to come up with nutrient rich products and I gave her a list of ingredients I wanted in bread and she just started putting things together. It's so good! It's going to be one of our breakfast breads. We don't have a name for it yet and in fact, my mother doesn't even know how good the bread turned out. Note to Mom...don't change anything you did to create this recipe. It's perfect! 1 week ago
